ASCII Usernames
Dear Trugamer Members, Effective immediately, players with special characters in their usernames (e.g. é ú . ó ) may enter our Free Tournaments on the understanding that if they win, they cannot be awarded any prize or qualify for our Leaderboard Promotions. The current GT Platform will not allow points to be awarded to these usernames unless the Administrator is in the same lobby as the ASCII Username in question. These usernames also complicate and interfere with Admins trying to do their job in moderating the lobbies, keeping it a clean and safe place for you while you enjoy the site's games and community. *TRU Team Tournament*
HUGE Team Tourney! Trugamer Team Tourney 2008 Hi folks, and welcome to Trugamer's first team tourney for 2008 starting Monday 18th February for 5 days! Please read ALL the details below. Ok, the basics first. You will need a team of 4 players. One of these players will be the captain. You are also allowed a substitute, which will be allowed to play if a player doesn't show up for their game. You are only allowed to use your sub once. Your 4 players must have the same word in their username, such as team BOOM or team FLAME would have to have to word BOOM or FLAME in their usernames. Once you have got your team of 4 players, you must then email: trugamerteamtourney@googlemail.com, stating your 4 players (including your captain) and your substitute. You do not need a sub but obviously it's helpful if you have one. You may change your players up until the first round, but after that you may not. Games The games played in the tourney will be: 9-Ball (Best of 4) 8-Ball (Best of 4) Snooker (Best of 1) In your team of 4 players, you must pick a player to play in 2 different games, for example player A could play 8-Ball and the Cutty Race, whilst player B could play Gin and Backgammon. It is up to you who you pick to play the different games. Each player can only play a maximum of 2 games each, I.e. a player couldn't play 8-Ball, 9-Ball and the cutty race. Each event will take place on a different day, so it might be 9-Ball Monday, 8-Ball Tuesday etc. For those days only the player that is playing will need to turn up, although if the rest of the team want to come along and support the players then that's fine. All the games will be played at 9pm GMT - I'm sorry if this is inconvenient for some of you but the time zones are a pain unfortunately, and I can't satisfy everyone. Scoring Points will be awarded as follows: 4 points for a win 0 points for a loss Points for the cutty race will be awarded as follows: 1st team: 15 points If a player does not finish the match that they are playing in then they will automatically score 0 for that match. If a team does not finish 10 games in the cutty race then they will also score 0 for that event. In addition to this, teams will also have one 'joker' card for every different game such as 9-Ball or Gin. This means that for one match in every player's chosen games, the player will be able to pick one match, where if he wins he will score double points for that one match. Prizes Each winning team member will receive 500 Promo Points and 5 leaderboard points. For the sub to be legible for a prize, they must have completed a full set of matches.
